Black or White?

People often say that rap is black music, which it actually seems to be. But rappers that are signed to labels usually have to respond to white executives running everything. The executives tell them what kind of music to make, and what crowd they need to appeal to. So is rap nowadays really black music, or is it white music? There's only a handful of rappers I can think of that are white. Macklemore, and Mac Miller, who are independent. And Eminem, who never responded to a white executive. So is hip hop black or white?
